Anthropic is expanding Claude's app integrations beyond work tools, adding personal-service connectors like Spotify, Uber, AllTrails, TripAdvisor, Instacart, and TurboTax. The Verge reports: Some of these apps, such as Spotify, already have similar connectors in OpenAI's ChatGPT. Once an app is connected, Claude will suggest relevant connected apps directly in your conversations, like using AllTrails for hike recommendations. Anthropic notes in its blog post announcing the new connectors that, "Your data from [connected apps] isn't used to train our models, and the app doesn't see your other conversations with Claude. You can also disconnect it at any time." Additionally, Anthropic says "there are no paid placements or sponsored answers in conversations with Claude." When multiple apps seem relevant, Claude will show results from both "ranked by what's most useful." The New York Giants had a completely bizarre draft on Thursday – one that even left star wide receiver Malik Nabers visibly frustrated during his own simulcast with Green Bay Packers linebacker Micah Parsons. First, an item that slipped under the radar, former co-owner Steve Tisch appeared in the team’s war room as the team was making its second pick of the night. The Athletic noted that Tisch was "still involved" with the team. Then, came the Giants’ first pick. New York was on the clock at No. 5 and, the way the cards were dealt, they could have filled a big need in the secondary. New York hasn’t had a hard-hitting safety since Shaun Williams was roaming around as a defensive back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Instead, the Giants decided to add Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese to the team. Reese was a fantastic player with the Buckeyes. He was an All-American and the Big Ten Linebacker of the Year in 2025. However, he’s joining a team that already had four linebackers on the team. Kayvon Thibodeaux, Brian Burns, Abdul Carter and Terrell Edmunds are already on the team. Nabers expressed his frustration with the pick. THE MOST INTRIGUING TEAMS AND PLAYERS OF THE 2026 NFL DRAFT'S FIRST ROUND "Love the player, don’t get me wrong," Nabers said on the Bleacher Report simulcast. "But where do you play? He is going to want to be on the outside to rush but we just drafted somebody last year to do that same position." The Giants had the No. 10 selection as well after trading Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals. Ohio State safety Caleb Downs was still on the board. However, the team chose to go a different route. New York selected Miami offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa at No. 10 with the reported intentions of moving him from the tackle sport to guard. Nabers also questioned that selection. "I would rather get him then play against him … I’m just saying that Downs was there twice," Nabers said. "The reason why I said Caleb Downs … is because we just traded [Dexter Lawerence], you need you need interior D line — I understand getting outside backer he wants to rush OK — but when you eliminate something from there you, have to put something in the back end to be secure." Instead, Downs fell to the Dallas Cowboys at No. 12. Nabers will have to see Downs twice a year, as well as former Ohio State star Sonny Styles – who was taken by the Washington Commanders. As the draft was concluding, Nabers was forced to clarify some of the things he was saying on the livestream. "First off, we have to stop overreacting," he wrote on X. "I would never intentionally take away from the biggest moment/night of Arvell’s life. Very excited to see him play on the team and happy that we have another dawg on the squad!" Chances are, you have never thought much about who owns the satellites keeping your phone connected in the middle of nowhere. That could change soon. Amazon is betting $11.57 billion that you will start paying attention. Its acquisition of Globalstar is a major move against Starlink, and the stakes go far beyond bragging rights. Sign up for my FREE CyberGuy Report AMAZON TAKES ON ELON MUSK, LAUNCHING 27 INTERNET SATELLITES Globalstar has operated for more than 30 years as a mobile satellite services provider. It brings something Amazon needed badly: spectrum. The company operates in Band 53, a slice of spectrum from 2483.5 to 2495 MHz. It describes this aslicensed spectrum with global authorizations designed to support fast, low-latency connectivity with reduced interference. That matters. Spectrum is limited, and having access to it gives Amazon a real edge. Amazon is also getting Globalstar's satellites, infrastructure and global licenses. It is a full package. But the real value is the spectrum. This deal is also about what that spectrum enables. Amazon plans to use it to power direct-to-device satellite services, allowing phones to send texts, make calls and access data even when there is no cellular signal. The system is expected to roll out starting in 2028 and will support features on devices like iPhones and Apple Watches, including emergency messaging and roadside assistance. That turns this into more than an infrastructure deal. It is a shift in how everyday devices stay connected beyond traditional networks. Let's be clear about the gap. Starlink serves more than nine million users and has about 10,000 satellites in orbit. Amazon's Leo network has just over 200 satellites. Adding Globalstar's two dozen barely moves the number. So why spend $11.57 billion? Because this deal is not about satellite count. It is about future capability. Amazon plans to launch a next-generation direct-to-device system in 2028. This would deliver voice, data and messaging straight to phones. The Globalstar deal gives Amazon the tools to make that happen. It brings spectrum, infrastructure and experience together. MUSK CONFIRMS SPACEX SUCCESS IN PREVENTING RUSSIAN MILITARY FROM ACCESSING STOLEN STARLINK UNITS This is where the story hits home. Amazon and Apple have an agreement for Amazon Leo to support satellite features on iPhones and Apple Watches. That includes Emergency SOS via satellite. If you rely on that feature in a dead zone, it will soon run through Amazon's network. Apple says the service has already helped in real emergencies, including stranded hikers and crash victims rescued in remote areas. Amazon will continue supporting current devices using Globalstar's system while working with Apple on future upgrades. So nothing breaks, but the system behind it changes. The deal still needs regulatory approval, and that takes time. Amazon expects it to close in 2027. The FCC will decide, though early signs look positive. Amazon also faces a deadline. It plans to deploy about 3,200 satellites by 2029. About half must be in orbit by July 2026. That timeline adds pressure to move fast. This deal matters most in places where cell towers do not reach. Satellite connectivity can act as a backup during disasters like hurricanes or wildfires. In those moments, having no signal can be dangerous. But the impact goes beyond emergencies. Remote workers, trucking fleets, maritime crews and rural communities all stand to benefit. These are places where traditional networks fall short.
